Los Angeles

Here’s What I’ve Learned

I have one week left. The nostalgia is already kicking in. Here’s one last post!

Although I did something literally every single day, all summer, I still know there is so much more to do in Los Angeles. Here, I felt like a tiny fish in a massive ocean, with endless opportunities and experiences to discover. I’m truly looking forward to my future career, and my experiences here have affirmed my hope that I will be successful in following my dreams.

So Much to Say, So Much to Learn

 Hey everyone,

Time is moving so quickly here. It’s crazy. I feel like there is so much more to learn! I mean, there is obviously so much more to learn, but it’s more that I don’t want to leave LA before I learn it! There are moments where I feel like the task I’m doing may not be teaching me anything, but then I get home, and I have so many thoughts and questions. My mind is racing constantly. Maybe it’s just me that’s crazy… hm.

One of my bosses, Lucas Vidal, wrote the score for Fast & Furious 6, The Quiet Ones, Nobody Wants the Night, The Raven, and more!

My experience at Atom Factory

BY TICkwanya jones

This past Fall Semester I took a Digital Marketing course with Professor Stephanie Kellar. In this class one of the topics that we discussed the importance of Social Media. That course truly served as an asset to me. One of the assignments that I’ve been able to do thus far in my Atom Factory journey is work on the Social Media team for their website SMASHD.

My First Month Interning in Los Angeles

Hey everyone,

The picture above is me sitting in my office, on the phone with an important client. Just kidding. My supervisor and I thought it would be funny to start off my posts with a joke. I work in a cubicle, and don’t talk to clients. But hey, I still have two months left here 😉

I’m Christina, and I’m about to enter my last two semesters of school at Berklee. Crazy how time flies. Up until now, I was double majoring in Music Business & Film Scoring. Starting in the fall, I’ll officially be switched over to Music Business & Pro Music (focusing on film scoring and composition). I made the switch because while I love film scoring, and movie scores – they are one of the main reasons I decided to pursue music in college – I’ve learned a lot about myself in the last year. I’ve realized that I am not the type to be able to sit alone and write. I wish I was, but I am stimulated and excited by leading projects with a lot of moving parts and people. I love planning, coordinating and networking. Which is why I’m hoping to find my place in the film industry, but from a more behind the scenes role.

Two-Five-One: Eric Kalver

ii-V-I

Name: Eric Kalver
Major(s): Contemporary Writing & Production and Drum Set Performance
Hometown: Cranston, RI
Current City: Los Angeles, CAEric Kalver

Why did you move to the city you’re living in now?

Two months before graduating, I was on spring break visiting Los Angeles with my dad. I had no set plans for what I would do after graduating but an old friend, while meeting up at In-N-Out Burger, convinced me that I should move to LA as soon as possible. As a pop arranger, drummer, and movie buff, I knew that he was right, plus, I was done dealing with snow. I visited LA one more time to make sure this was the right move and then drove 3000 miles with all my belongings from Rhode Island to Los Angeles. My best friend joined me and flew back once we arrived. We were so excited that our 5 day plan ended up turning into a 3.5 day plan. For those who are planning on driving, TAKE YOUR TIME! I had to rush because I had a job waiting, but I wish I had left earlier to explore more of the country.
